What’s Happening on the Creekwalk? Have you noticed us working on the Onondaga Creekwalk? The youth and young adult crews of Onondaga Earth Corps (OEC) are leading a project focused on restoring the riparian areas along the creekwalk!

A 4-year NRDAR grant (Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration) was awarded to the City of Syracuse to conduct restoration with the help of community partners such as OEC. It is the culmination of a community effort, which started in 2000, to revitalize the creek. We are currently working on the area between the fenceline and the creek, called the riparian corridor. New native trees and shrubs will be planted in this area to restore natural habitat.

Benefits of this Project:
● Improved views of Onondaga Creek
● Improved water quality
● Safer routes for pedestrians
● Increased ecological value
● Provides youth job opportunities

We would like your input on this project through this survey.
