Come for a tree-planting demo at Kirk Park in the Southside and learn more about our plans to grow our city’s canopy cover along with OEC and representatives the City Parks Department, Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Mayor’s office.

What: What: Trees are essential to our community. The ReLeaf Syracuse Team is committed to increasing the tree canopy over our city, and we need your help. Come to the Northside Learning Center after work hours in an informal setting and learn more about our plans to grow our city’s canopy cover along with OEC and representatives of the City Parks Department, Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Mayor’s office.

Oneida Shores Community Tree Planting
When: Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 10 AM – 12:30 PM
Where: Oneida Shores Park, 9400 Bartell Road, Brewerton, NY 13029
What: Plant trees. Learn about EAB. Join neighbors, volunteers, Onondaga County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Onondaga Earth Corps to replace trees that are coming down due to an invasive insect, the emerald ash borer (EAB).
Approximately 1700 trees have come down in the park. Help replant the forest!

Save the Rain Fall Planting ’18
When: Saturday, October 27, 2018, 9 AM-1 PM
Where: Kirk Park, Syracuse, New York 13205
What: Join us as we replant historic trees in Upper Onondaga Park, Lower Onondaga Park, and Kirk Park. On October 27th from 9 am-1 pm. We will be planting 79 trees along park roadways in Upper Onondaga Park, Lower Onondaga Park, and Kirk Park; restoring its historic character and following the park’s original designers intent.

ENCORE Annual Fundraiser Banquet 2018
When: Saturday, Nov 3rd, 2018, 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM
What: Earth Corps ENCORE 2018 Annual Fall Fundraiser Banquet, and join us for an evening of drinks, hors d’oeuvres and a photo exhibit, and dinner followed by a program featuring the compelling stories of young crew members, staff, and artistic expressions by the youth, as well as special guest SU student, Samuel Koufer, pianist and Hendricks Chapel organist, and FOQ. Northside Community Tree Planting Event
What: Please come and participate in a low-intensity public tree planting event at Union Park in the Northside neighborhood of Syracuse! This is a high pollution corridor along North Salina St. and right by I-81, as identified by OEC youth who have been sampling the air quality in the City of Syracuse with the help of Onondaga Environmental Institute’s Amy Samuels and the generous support of a DEC Environmental Justice grant. This corridor needs all the trees, and healthy air we can supply, so please come and learn more about this project and help us plant some trees!
