Green Bag Lunch: Air Pollution in Syracuse and the I-81 Project

Onondaga Earth Corps Americorps service member, Terrance Valdes, along with Greg Michel, Executive Director, Onondaga Earth Corps; Amy Samuels, Onondaga Environmental Institute; and Professor Jaime Mirowsky, SUNY ESF will be talking about Air Pollution in Syracuse and the I-81 Project at the Green Bag Lunch Event on March 26th hosted by GreeningUSA.

Ambient air pollution accounts for an estimated 4.2 million deaths per year due to stroke, heart disease, lung cancer and chronic respiratory diseases. These deaths disproportionately impact minority, lower income and lower education individuals. Please join us to learn about their work on air pollution in Syracuse. A discussion of how this relates to the removal of the elevated portion of I-81 and the community grid will follow.
