Upper Onondaga Park Tree Planting Event on May 5, 2018

Volunteers at Onondaga Park

Join Onondaga Earth Corps, Cornell Cooperative Extension and City Parks and Recreation, as we replant historic trees in Upper Onondaga Park at our volunteer tree planting event on Saturday, May 5th from 9:30am-12pm!

We will be planting 39 trees along park roadways in Upper Onondaga Park, restoring its historic character and following the park’s original designers intent.

This tree planting event is an important component of the Save the Rain program, a comprehensive stormwater management plan intended to reduce pollution moving to Onondaga Lake and its tributaries. Each tree intercepts over 1,000 gallons of storm water annually. From this planting, our impact on the water shed will be in taking up over 40,000 gallons of storm water annually.
